Are We Beginning to Connect the Dots? Part three

To entreat God our Savior for an abundant harvest of souls for His Kingdom in the remaining days.  "Do you not say, Four months more and then the harvest?"   I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields!  They are ripe for harvest"  (John 4:35).

As I have prayed for our nation these past nine days, I prayed that God would intercede and force us back onto the right road. God impressed on me to read Hebrews 10: 26-39.  I keep hearing pastors and teachers saying this verse or that verse is a verse for today and  I tend to reject that statement.   As I read and reread the Word, I find that the entire  1344 pages of the Old Covenant and 405 pages of the New Covenant are filled with verses that come alive when we look at them in the context of this period of time in history.

Bu,t as I read and reread Hebrews 10:26-39, I find a passage that should be printed in all of the local newspapers of the land and, perhaps, every pastor should begin his services with this passage.  I believe the writer of Hebrews had a special anointing when he penned these verses for they are a pure, down-to-earth warning for these last days.

In the event you do not have the time or desire to read the passage let me share a couple powerful verses that certainly got my attention.   In verse 26-27 the writer tells it just like it is "For if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a terrifying expectation of judgment and the fury of a fire which will consume the adversaries".

Then, in verse 29 He asks the question, "How much severer punishment do you think he will deserve who has trampled underfoot the Son of God, and has regarded as unclean the blood of the Covenant by which he was sanctified, and has insulted the Spirit of Grace?"
As I see the path our nation is on, verse 31 keeps banging around in my head, "It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God".

But notice the writer does not leave it hanging on a negative hook, he goes on to provide hope for those who love the Lord their God and are committed to His will and His ways; "Therefore, do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward,  for you have need of endurance, so that when you had done the will of God, you may receive what was promised. (vs.35-36).

As I reread this passage and then reread the prayers provided for us by Anne Graham Lotz, I felt she was saying the same thing but in a more focused way on the specific problems our Nation is facing.
She offered the following listing of critical needs in our Nation as consideration for prayer at this special time, and ongoing.

For our President, who professes to have a saving faith through Jesus Christ, yet his actions contradict his words.

For our Senators and Congressional leaders, that God would give them a greater desire to serve for the good of the whole country, than for their own good.

For our coming national elections that You, Lord, will raise up a Josiah, or Moses, a Joseph or David to lead us.

For our military and their families, that in these days of heightened danger and uncertainty, they would seek to strengthen their foundation of faith in Jesus.  Fill the Chaplains with Your courage to speak the truth and present the Gospel to those who are in harm's way; and protect them and their careers when they do.

For the police who have been under such attack.  Father, Keep them safe as they keep us safe.
For our Nation morally and spiritually;  We plead to You to save us from ourselves.  Free us from the chokehold of sin;  Protect us from our enemies;  Spare us from Your judgment.

We implore you Lord, Most High God, Rise up!  Quell the rebellion!  Judge the wicked.  Guard the innocent.  Protect the weak.  Deliver the captives.  Defend the feeble.  Elevate truth over lies, love over hate, good over evil, freedom over bondage.

She closed with this very awesome prayer, "We pray this in the name of the Rider on the white horse, whose name is Faithful and True, who one day will return, followed by the armies of heaven.  We pray this in the name of the One who judges with justice and makes war, with eyes of blazing fire.  We pray this in the name of the Victorious Warrior who one day will vanquish Satan, and remove all sin, evil, wickedness, rebellion, hatred, injustice, and lies from this planet.  We pray this to the Father in the name of Jesus.  Grant us victory this day!

Keep in mind good people, it is not the government who will fix our mess, only the Rider on the white horse.

Blessings,

Gramps
